My name is Lucinda. I am a ballpoint pen artist, singer-songwriter and Pilates instructor who currently lives in Johannesburg.
I grew up in Jeffreys Bay, where together with some friends, started an Afrikaans band called Die Melktert Kommissie.
In 2002 we won the first Rockspaaider competition and from there we recorded three albums and various singles.
It has been one of the greatest blessings and joys to make music with my fellow band mates for more than half of my life. Die Melktert Kommissie's music is available on iTunes or any other streaming services.
In 2019, I released an EP together with Bouwer Bosch called ‘Waar Die See Die Kus Omhels’.
In 2020, I released my first solo single, namely ‘Weerloos’. I made the music video myself in the form of a paper stop motion animation. It consisted of 1601 photos of little paper dolls that I moved with every photo. Later that year I released a live version of ‘Engele Kom’ with another hand made animated video.
2021 sees the release of my first solo album, entitled ‘UITGESKRYF’. The album came after the release of the first official single from the album in June - ‘ONS IS ONS’ featuring longtime friend John-Henry Opperman from Klopjag.
I love to draw, sing, move and laugh. I love nature, bees, trees, the ocean and especially the rain. I love scented candles, tea, to read and to write.
I love to make new friends and to cook for them. I absolutely love this journey I'm on.
